I am a product designer based in New York. I am in my first year of working at Mark43, where
I'm building tools for first responders and the communities they serve. Previously, I lived in Boston and studied
the intersection of art and technology at Wellesley College and MIT.
I've also had the privilege of working with wonderful people and learning about design, engineering, and research at these places: Google (YouTube Live & Gaming), MIT Media Lab (Civic Media), MIT Design Lab, Microsoft (Garage), Kensho, and State Street (CAR).
In my free time, I love reading, photography, crafting, vegetarian cooking, and exploring NYC. I volunteer as a mentor at Apex for Youth.
Product Design (Current Role) · 2018 - Present
The RMS is where police officers write reports, detectives manage their case loads, evidence clerks track items, and records administrators handle all the behind-the-scenes workflows. Some things I deal with in my daily work include: legal reporting requirements, preventing potential for abuse, information density, accessibility, quality of user-entered data, handling sensitive information, and interactions with other government systems. Our users work in many different functional roles, have a range of attitudes towards technology, and are often in high-stress situations where they must act responsibly while moving quickly and staying safe.
I'm lucky to work with passionate and brilliant colleagues. The work challenges, motivates, and humbles me every day.
